Founded in 1786 and named for Georgia's Revolutionary War hero, Nathanael Greene, Greensboro is located just north of Interstate 20 halfway between Augusta and Atlanta and only minutes from the shores of beautiful Lake Oconee. The town, touched by King Cotton, the Civil War, the boll weevil and the Great Depression always forged new beginnings. Today Greensboro welcomes vibrant shopping, dining, recreation and entertainment all in Lake Oconee's hometown.
