David Vaughan has a passion for real estate, homes and people that started long before he became a realtor 14 years ago. His experience in the real estate and home building industries spans 30 years and that knowledge and expertise benefits his clients throughout every real estate transaction. David is also known for his personal approach, building relationships, listening well and working to ensure client satisfaction.
David’s industry experience includes a 20-year corporate career with Southern Living and Southern Accents magazines where he served as the Director of Southern Marketing and Home Show programs, overseeing all aspects of one of the most prestigious show home programs in the country. While there, he oversaw the creation of more than 40 multi-million dollar show homes and took them from concept to the pages of the magazine. David has also personally built and renovated luxury homes giving clients the benefit of years of bricks and mortar experience.
David understands that real estate transactions are some of the most significant financial decisions that a client will make in their lifetime. He is a highly skilled negotiator and prides himself on matching his clients with the right home. Many of his buyers say they would not have found their home without him.
As a long-time resident of Virginia-Highlands, David is an Intown expert with first hand knowledge of Midtown, Virginia-Highlands, Morningside, Druid Hills, Ansley Park, Poncey Highland, 4th Ward, Inman Park, Grant Park, Decatur, and Buckhead. As a native Atlantan, David has a clear understanding of the metro Atlanta area including Sandy Springs, East Cobb and the multitude of communities that surround the city.
David also loves history and architecture. While he served on the Virginia-Highland Civic Association, he drew on his past show home experience to jointly resurrect the Virginia-Highlands Tour of Homes, now in its 14th year. David also serves on the University of Georgia Library Board of Visitors and works closely with the Atlanta Preservation Center. He is a collector of 19th century photographs which have been prominently exhibited in five Georgia- based museums as well as the Metropolitan Museum in NYC, The Gibbs Museum in Charleston, SC, and the NOMA in New Orleans, LA. He is also a contributing editor for Georgia Backroads Magazine.
A graduate of the University of Georgia, David lives in Virginia-Highland with his wife Debbie, and son, David, Jr. When he is not working with clients, he can be found enjoying the company of family and friends or collecting antiques and historic Georgia memorabilia. David also owns and operates Vaughan Estate Sales and Appraisals, Inc., a company that conducts estate sales and liquidates home contents to prepare a home to market and sell.
