Created by world class designer, Russ Berger, and built by lifelong recording engineer, Jim Hawkins, Athens, GA's recording STUDIO 1093 brings together superb acoustics and a mix of modern & vintage equipment into a large open space where musicians can play together outside of the now obsolete, though traditional, "cave" environment of recording studios of the past. This is a free-standing building located in the desirable Boulevard Neighborhood in Athens, GA. The main room is 25' x 40' with 16' ceilings. The main isolation space is entirely glassed to the main room (rather than windowed) and is the full 16' in height. There is a secondary room for amps and the garage is wired for amplifiers and any other purpose the recording requires. Sunlight fills the room during the day. Artists have described this as the most pleasing space in which they've ever played. STUDIO 1093 has been scrupulously designed and constructed. It's a building within a building (double walled with space in between) that dedicates extreme attention to the architectural volume, geometry, and finishes that create the right acoustical environment for sound isolation, noise and vibration control. Together the Designer and Builder have thought about every single detail of technical infrastructure. Studio 1093 offers the proper cable management pathways, power and grounding systems, and adequate cooling and lighting so all components operate seamlessly to create that recording masterpiece.--
